Rooting live cutting of trichocereus

Sterile soil is not used here as this relates to using healthy garden soil in a warm, dry climate. During cold, humid periods mold may be a problem and sterile soil is made by baking in the oven for 1 hour at 400 degrees.

Wild volunteers. These are log buds, with the exception of the thorny one, that I found sprouting in the weeds. Such buds snap off like branches and may be rooted into new plants.
