and root cut sections of Trichocereus Pachanoi. This advice is standard
for other varieties of cacti as well.

Sterile soil is not used here as this relates to using healthy garden
soil in a warm, dry climate. During cold, humid periods mold may be a
problem and sterile soil is made by baking in the oven for 1 hour at 400
degrees.

Wild volunteers. These are log buds,
with the exception of the thorny one, that I found sprouting in the
weeds. Such buds snap off like branches and may be rooted into new
