5 lbs., sizes vary. Main photo, of tray, is typical.
Cuttings are freshly harvested from the current year's new growth
tips, and can be rooted now or next spring.
Available only during growing season until about October. From a
very authentic strain perpetuated only by cuttings, never cross
pollinated/seed grown, since first cuttings imported from Peru in
the 1960s. Cactus Kate in Watsonville, California taught me to
propagate San pedro back in 1987. These descendents from her great
stand have been organically tended by myself for 20 years.
Plants typically will reach 12 to 14 feet before tips break off
during wind storms. Once you root a tip the plant will grow as
big/fast as you provide root space. Thus can be a patio specimen or
in the ground become tree size. |

Be patient. Cuttings do not sprout like seeds. They can take
months to root. They do it in their own time & season, depending on
soil temperature.
Rooting is fastest in the spring, dormant in winter.Never water a
cutting that does not have roots. Yes, it's OK to tug on the cutting
to check for roots. |

How big they grow depends on you. Do you want an indoor flower
pot size specimen or an outdoor tree size one? ZONE 9
Plant outdoors only in zone 9 (ask you local nursery or do a web
search).
No, San Pedro will not grow outdoors in areas that have
sub-freezing temperatures and snow. Again, check your local climate
zone. |

This 45 year old stand is near Stockton, California.
Redwood on the west side provides afternoon sun with full sun in the
morning. That is ideal.
In 100% all day sun plants will show some sun burn, and yellowing. |
